Message from the Principal

Dear DHS staff, students, and families,

Last week, we celebrated the launch of our inaugural arts festival at DHS, Arts Alive! Arts Alive aims to create a lifelong appreciation of the arts in all of our lives. This celebration is a testament to the vision, passion, and commitment of our extraordinary arts teachers, our talented students, and our supportive school community.

The arts are far more than just a hobby; they're a cornerstone of education. They ignite creativity, nurture teamwork, and empower our students to express themselves. To that end, all week, our Fine Arts students had highly-acclaimed and award-winning artists presenting masterclasses, performances, and workshops. In the cafeteria, a mural was created from words culled from a student survey. Through a special all-school assembly, students were exposed to vibrant music and beautiful dancing. Finally, on Saturday, we opened our doors to the community to enable those of all ages to explore various forms of arts from puppetry to henna, printmaking, jewelry making, sculpting, and so much more.

Thank you to everyone who made this special event possible! This event will return in 2026!

Sincerely,

Principal Anderson
